About Challenge

Dysarthria, a disorder caused by neurological conditions, severely impacts an individual's ability to communicate verbally. In the realm of neurorehabilitation, early, objective, and precise assessment and diagnosis are paramount for treatment and recovery. However, due to the complexity of dysarthria and the scarcity of relevant datasets, the automatic diagnosis and Assessment of dysarthria have long been a significant challenge. To surmount these difficulties, we will be unveiling a multimodal dysarthric speech dataset for use in a competition, which includes synchronized audio and video data from 64 dysarthria patients and 25 healthy individuals. The dataset also provides detailed phoneme-level speech annotations and comprehensive clinical subjective scale assessment results. We have set forth a four-category task aimed at developing a system for the automatic diagnosis and assessment of the severity of dysarthria. This initiative is not only beneficial for clinical diagnosis and treatment but also aids in the advancement of remote medical intelligent systems. Additionally, this challenge is one of the evaluation tasks for ISCSLP 2024, holding substantial significance for propelling technological progress in this field.

About ISCSLP2024
The 14th International Symposium on Chinese Spoken Language Processing (ISCSLP 2024) will be held in Beijing on 7-10 November 2024. We warmly welcome you to join this event.
International Symposium on Chinese Spoken Language Processing (ISCSLP) is the flagship conference of SIG-CSLP. It is a biennial conference for scientists, researchers and practitioners to report and discuss the latest progress in all theoretical and technological aspects of Chinese spoken language processing. It is scheduled to take turns running the event in four Chinese-spoken regions, namely, Singapore, Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. The first ISCSLP took place in Singapore in 1998. Since then, it has been successfully held in Beijing (2000), Taipei (2002), Hong Kong (2004), Singapore (2006), Kunming (2008), Tainan (2010), Hong Kong (2012), Singapore (2014), Tianjin (2016), Taipei (2018), Hong Kong (2020) and Singapore (2022).
